І Lviv International Economic Forum

October 25-27th 2001 The Economic Forum for Cross Border Cooperation Development was held. It was organized under the patronage of the President of Ukraine. ‘Through Euroregions – towards the unique Europe’ was title of the forum.

Forum was another practical step towards improving the cooperation between the countries of the euroregions ‘Carpathian Euroregion’, ‘Bug’, ‘Upper Prut’, ‘Lower Danube’.

 

The forum was attended by official delegations from Ukraine, Moldova, Poland, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary.

Representatives of governmental and regional authorities during the plenary and workshop sessions discussed the further development of cross border cooperation. Questions discussed during the forum:

  • cross border infrastructure development
  • improving the trade, economic and investment relations
  • environmental care and recreation business development.

During the The Forum Investment Fair number of 213 perspective investment projects was presented. Participants visited and learned more about the enterprises located in Lviv city and special economic zones Truskavets Resort and Yavoriv.

During the forum treaties between the countries and the agreements of intent between the representatives of business environment were signed. Several investment projects were approved.

Participants expressed their common desire to continue with such forums in the city of Lviv on a regular basis and confirmed the further implementation of the agreements approved.

In І Lviv International Economic Forum took part many honourable guests:

  • Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Moldova
  • Governmental delegations from Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine.

Total number of guests 620 people.

During the Forum Lviv Regional State Administration and Prešov Regional Administration signed the cooperation agreement.  Lviv Regional State Administration with Subcarpathian Voivodeship signed the executive protocol for 2002 Treaty of Cooperation realization. Treaty for institutional, social-economic cooperation development was signed between Volyn, Zakarpattya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Rivne, Ternopil and Chernivtsi Regions.
